Taking French in grade 8-12 will help since it is an official language by the government of Canada. Since it is an official second language, communicating and making connections with French speaking citizens would have a great toll on your mental health. Why take French?

History of French

French is simple to learn for several reasons. To start, French is closely related to English and there are thousands of French words (restaurant, information, and music) that are already part of the English language, so vocabulary is well known. The alphabet and grammar are also popular, so students don't have to start all over. French pronunciation is hard at first but once you pick up a few simple rules, it becomes routine so grammar makes sense and there are lots of resources available online, apps, and utilities that can help learners practice. French is also widely spoken in many countries around the world, providing learners with plenty of reality to the language in their daily lives. These things make French an easy and valuable language to learn.
